ViMonitor helps you monitor whether your Viessmann heat pump gateway is online. The app stores account-related credentials and tokens on your device, uses them to call Viessmann's official APIs, and may show local notifications about equipment or connectivity status. We do not operate a ViMonitor backend that collects your heat pump telemetry.
Sensitive items are stored using platform secure storage / encrypted preferences where the app implements them. Activity logs and preferences may use ordinary on-device storage.
When you use the app, it communicates with Viessmann Climate Solutions services (authorisation and IoT / equipment APIs) to sign you in, refresh tokens, and read installation and gateway online/offline status. Viessmann's own privacy policy and terms apply to their services and accounts.
Depending on Android version and settings, ViMonitor may use internet / network state, notifications, boot completed, and wake lock / foreground service related permissions as required by background work on Android. The app does not request access to your contacts, photos, precise location, microphone, or SMS.
On-device data and API responses are used solely to authenticate you to Viessmann, schedule and perform status checks, show status in the dashboard, trigger or clear local alerts, and maintain a local activity log for troubleshooting.
We do not sell your personal data. ViMonitor does not include third-party advertising SDKs in the current release. Data leaves your device only to communicate with Viessmann as required for the features above, and with Google as part of distributing the app via Google Play (Google's processing is governed by Google's policies).
If you contact us for support, the information you email us will be used only to respond to your request.
Tokens, credentials, preferences, and logs remain on your device until you clear app data, uninstall the app, or use in-app controls that remove them (where provided). We do not retain a separate cloud copy of your monitoring history.
We use platform facilities (including secure storage for tokens) and HTTPS for API calls. No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure; protect your device with a lock screen and keep the app updated.
ViMonitor is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect children's data.
Viessmann and Google may process data in regions outside your country. See their respective policies for details.
We may update this policy. The "Effective date" will change when we do. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy where permitted by law.
