Commitment

Komos Solutions Ltd (“the Company”) recognises that its activities have an impact on the environment and is committed to reducing that impact, to complying with relevant environmental law and to continual improvement.

Our main impacts

As an IT consultancy, the Company's main environmental impacts come from energy used by IT equipment and cloud services, business travel, and the purchase and disposal of electronic equipment.

What we do

  • Remote-first working. Meetings are held online where practical, to avoid unnecessary travel. When travel is needed, public transport is preferred where reasonable.
  • Energy-efficient IT. Energy-efficient equipment and reputable cloud providers with published environmental commitments are preferred.
  • Longer equipment life. Equipment is kept in use for as long as it remains secure and supported, and is repaired where practical.
  • Responsible disposal. Electronic equipment is disposed of through authorised recycling routes in line with the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Regulations, after secure data wiping.
  • Paper-light. Documents are produced and shared electronically wherever possible.
  • Efficient digital services. Websites and software are designed to be lightweight, which reduces energy use for users as well as the Company.

Responsibilities

The Director is responsible for this policy and for reviewing the Company's environmental performance.

Review

This policy is reviewed at least annually.
